BEGINS SUN MAR 6 THRU APR 3 / 9-9:45AM / ROOM 214
Psalm 22 is sometimes called “The Psalm of the Cross” because two of the phrases Jesus spoke from the cross are the first and last verses of this psalm: “My God, My God why have you forsaken me?” (vs. 1) and “It is finished.” (vs. 31). Some theologians feel that Jesus may have recited the entire Psalm as he hung on the cross to give him the strength he needed to accomplish his mission. Although we are familiar with these two verses, we may not be familiar with the full psalm that David wrote and how this psalm portrays both the pain of the crucifixion and the triumph of the resurrection.
Join us for five Sundays in Lent as we will look at this Psalm in its entirety and discuss its message for us during Lent and the days ahead. For more information, contact Barb Dreyfus by EMAIL.
